An Exclusive Reed Solution for Your Oboe Journey
We have created a unique and personal solution for oboists who want more than a standard reed.
Our Personal Reed System allows us to understand your instrument, playing preferences and individual needs, and use this information to create reeds specifically for the way you play.
1. Start with the Personal Oboe Reed Pack
Your journey begins with the Personal Oboe Reed Pack, containing three individually prepared handmade oboe reeds.
Choose the Student or Professional version and complete a short questionnaire about:
- your oboe brand and model
- your preferred resistance and response
- the intonation tendency of your instrument
- your preferred tone colour
- your preferred staple length
- the main difficulties you experience with your current reeds
Based on this information, we prepare three reeds with subtly different playing characteristics. Each reed is individually identified as A, B or C.
A free customer account is required to order the Pack. This allows us to securely connect your preferences, feedback and future orders with your Personal Reed Profile.
2. Test reeds A, B and C
Take time to play and compare all three reeds.
Evaluate their response, tone, hardness, opening, intonation, attack and overall playing feel. A QR code included with your Pack will take you directly to your personal feedback form.
Your feedback helps us understand which characteristics feel most natural on your instrument and allows us to refine your Personal Reed Profile.
3. Continue with individual Personal Oboe Reeds
After purchasing the Personal Oboe Reed Pack, access to individual Personal Oboe Reeds is activated for your customer account.
The Personal Oboe Reed is visible to all visitors, but it can only be ordered by registered customers who have previously purchased the Pack.
Each reed is individually handcrafted according to the information stored in your Personal Reed Profile. This includes a carefully selected combination of:
- precise cane diameter
- cane density
- hardness
- flexibility
- shaper form
- scrape
- staple length
- response and resistance
- tonal character
Your profile becomes the blueprint for every Personal Oboe Reed we create for you.
4. A profile that evolves with you
